GMS Adventure Camp fosters a sense of wonder, environmental stewardship, and critical
thinking skills. The open spaces of Essex County serve as a living classroom for campers to learn, appreciate and understand the natural resources of the greater Cape Ann area.
Helen Ives made this for us after working on the museum archives of the Folly Cove Designer’s. An obvious talent, Helen was our Jr. Sea head teacher last summer.
Jo Ann, Jim and JeffJo Anne, Jeff, Sherman the dog, and board members Jim Schoel and Steve Brettler spent a foggy afternoon re-floating the camp’s docks off the marsh and getting them re-installed in preparation for the 2017 camp season. This has to be done on the highest tide in the spring to insure there’s enough water, so we do it no matter the weather.
Fortunately for us we had about two hours where a monsoon throttled back to a pleasant spring drizzle allowing us to complete the work easily. Next we’ll be readying the island and the dories. We’re always looking for a few extra hands. If you can spare a part of day please let Jo Anne know–
