Junior Sea Camp
Age: Children entering grades 1-4
Junior Sea Camp is an exciting introduction to Project Adventure activities.
Designed for young campers, Junior Sea Camp focuses challenge without competition, developing personal self esteem and trust through fun adventure activities. All activities foster an appreciation of the outdoors, and emphasize hands-on marine science activities.
The camp also includes fun and educational activities such as dory rowing and expeditions, exploring salt marshes and beaches, rock climbing, and ocean-themed arts and crafts projects.
Our typical day begins at 9AM with a dory rowing adventure from Stone Pier to neighboring Ram Island and ends at Stone Pier at 3PM.
Adventure Sea Camp
Age: Children entering grades: 4-6
Adventure Sea Camp, which fosters an appreciation of the natural world. All programs give campers the exciting opportunity to explore the marshes, beaches, and ocean that make Cape Ann so special. A unique learning environment for all living things, humans included!
At Adventure Sea Camp counselors utilize Project Adventure methods and tools to ensure that the study of marine science is as accessible as it is fun.
Campers might explore such increasingly pressing issues such as our Carbon Footprint, fish spawning in the depths of the marshes, and the concerns over invasive species, in a hands-on, collaborative environment. Games and trust activities are combined with climbing events, hiking, tide pooling, marsh studies, birding, orienteering, and dory rowing.
Adventure Sea campers will visit a variety of different places within Gloucester such as:
- Stage Fort Park,
- Wingaersheek Beach,
- Halibut Point State Park,
- Plum Cove Beach,
- Red Rock,
- Seven Seas Whale Watch,
- Good Harbor Beach,
- Niles Beach,
- Ravenswood Park,
- Dogtown,
- Gloucester Maritime Heritage Center,
- Ten Pound Island,
- Stone Pier and Ram Island.
Our typical day runs 9AM – 3PM.
Senior Sea Camp
Age: 11 and up
Does your child display a deep curiosity about the outdoors and possess the spirit of adventure? Senior Sea Camp provides an exciting atmosphere of adventure and outdoor challenge. Senior Sea Camp includes rock climbing, extreme hiking, orienteering, and a variety of other exciting outdoor excursions. Designed for the older camper who has gone through Jr. Sea and/or Adventure Camp, Senior Sea Camp will keep you child engaged, active, and excited about the outdoors.
CIT Program
Age: 14 and up
Our C.I.T. programs is designed for returning campers over 14 years old. We reserve several places for C.I.T.s in each session and for every age group. The cost is $150 a week or $300 per two week session.
